FMP FINALLY :D

All of these were exhibited in my exhibition i am very proud of them.
i wanted to put gold luster on the bones to make it look as if its excavated
These are my final and finished sculptures. I decided to put the four sculptor that were made out of grey clay on an earth ware firing. i wanted to bring out the detail more and make it look more rocky like. putting an oxide glaze on helped bring out the marks, i had to put more oxide on than i would normally because when you put oxide on an earthenware firing a lot of it comes of in the proses.
The only downfall with these sculptures is that i had to put rods underneath them to balence them if some one had knocked the plyth a liitle bit it would of fallen over, this is becuasewhen i left them to dry after making them i had balenced them inbetween and ontop of two planks of wood, it dryed that way and left it wobbley.
I'm so pleased with this and how it turned out the people in the exhibition seemed to love harry!
This is my final piece of my plaster mould. a lot of time went into this it looks so fragile. i decided that this would go on the wight bored Even tho it is wight too it looked as if the mould was part of the bored its self.
This is my print om the bored! i think it being on the wight background makes the prints stand out. This is visually exciting to the eye and catches the viewers attention.

Print

This is my lino print. I used lino to create this abstract affect. In life drawing i had wrapped up the model in a sheet to get the form of the body and the creases this helped me to get the detail in to my sculptures so i could calve the right bit away to make it look and resemble a human form. i want this in my exhibition because it relates to my sculptors.

I have done two quick prints of this, i want to know what colours go together and i thought these two would go well. i tried to use other colours like black and yellow but didn't seem to fit in with the sculptors i had already made. i want to put this on Fabiano paper as it had more of a grainy affect, the ink will sink into the paper more where as if i use just normal paper the ink seems to spread up the page or doesn't have enough on the paper.

Change

I wanted this one to  be different even thou they are all different but instead of this one standing up i wanted it lying down. i have relieved small areas of the skeleton to show the idea more of it being inside something. The reason why i want all my sculptures to look as if its been inside rock is because  when i put the Luster on it which will turn gold once in the kiln make the sculpture become more precious. so after this possess the skeleton will actually look as if it has been excavated by archaeologists.

Pelvic bone

So this is the design of my sculpture unfortunately i forgot to take photos of the proses but the final out come lookes amazing!  i wanted to get the proportion right on this this was hard because i kept getting it wrong the pelvic bone was either to high or to low but i got around it. i want the viewers to see this straight away so making a larger sculpture helped. as this one is bigger if this is placed next to the smaller ones you will see it straight away as it catches your attention but with out the smaller one being next to it i think it will loose its attention.

Harry

This is the making of my porcelain proses of Harry. i wanted the whole of the human skeleton and more of a challenge for my self so using porcelain was a big step as i don't really get on with it, i find that you have to work quick and be careful other wise everything you have calved into moves with it. Even thou Antony Gormley has less detail he fires them and leaves them unglazed i want to do this with this sculpture so it look natural and in its form.

This will be fired just need a bit more cleaning up on the edges.
